Become a CPTED-AP™
The CPTED-AP™ Program
Eligibility Check: The first step in becoming a CPTED Accredited Professional™i (CPTED-AP™s) is determine eligibility. This include checking that the applicant has a certain level of experience or education in the field of physical security, is proficent in the application of the CPTED ISO (22341), and does not have a criminal history.
Application: The candidate submits an application including their personal details, professional experience, and educational background. They must also provide a recent police clearance letter confirming they have no criminal history.
Coursework/Training: If accepted, the candidate usually undertakes a course or training program (provided by an authorized third-party). This will typically include study of CPTED principles and best practices, as well as how to apply them in real-world situations.
Examination: After completing an approved CPTED education/training program, candidates must pass an examination delivered by the CPTED Institute to prove their understanding and ability to apply CPTED (ISO 22341) principles.
Accreditation: Once the candidate passes the CPTED Instute's exam, the candidate is accredited as a CPTED-AP™. This professional accreditation confirms their competence and understanding of CPTED (ISO 22341) principles.
Continuing Education: All CPTED-APs™ must complete annual continuing education (also provided by an authorized third-party).
